Silly Mama's Boy

So cute soaking in the tub!!

We had a great long weekend. It was really hard to go back to work after 3 days off in the beautiful weather - usually this would be our last week of school but being that Memorial Day is early this year we still have next week. So I can handle one and a half more weeks.

Teague has become a complete Mama's boy. I think it's just because we spend the most time together, but now that Ryan is around more with baseball over it gets a bit old. I attached a video so you can hear that everything is "MOMMY" in our house. You can hear him in the video saying "Man, man" because he wanted to watch a video of himself where he was saying "Oh MAN", but this was the most cooperative video to post where he is not chasing the camera! So back to Mama's boy, for instance, it's breakfast time, I am getting my stuff ready for the day and Ryan is going to pour Teague cereal and this is what I hear "NO! Mommy." Or tonight before bed Teague asks for "Brobee?" and Ryan reaches into his crib to get Brobee to which he screams "NO! Mommy." and Ryan gives Brobee to me so I can hand it to Teague and Teague replies with the nicest and most well mannered "Tanks" to me. Not Ryan. So it's a bit endearing for me, however causes me a lot of work to make him happy - so also my own fault to which I will just have to break this bossy habit of his. I just keep thinking it won't last and pretty soon (like when baby sis comes home) he will have NOTHING to do with me. Savor, savor, savor these days! Speaking of Teague being bossy, he was bossing me around about something (I know, prisoner of my own problem) and I turned to him and said "What, do you think you are the boss around here?" and he told me, "No, Papa. Boss." Oh, well I think it is time to restrict these one on one visits with Papa as he also told me that his diaper was "panties" - which is also courtesy of Papa. Oye.

I am excited to say that I have accepted a new position (in addition to my current job) as an on-call Crisis Response Practitioner. Essentially I will be working on call for area hospitals to be called in if they have a mental health patient that they need assistance in setting up services for follow up, etc. It's complicated, but very exciting for me to further my career in another area. As most of you know I am taking a year leave of absense from my job when baby sis arrives, so who knows where this may lead???

Have a great week!

Nice weekend.

Ahh, loving the warm weather. Love it. And just two weeks left of school, woo hoo! Today a 2 hour project of fixing the liner on the pool (it slipped off the wall over the winter thawing process) turned into an all day event for my hubby. Apparently once he went under the deck it was noticed that the pool wall actually heaved from the winter (natural causes, nothing you can do - thanks again Minnesota Mother Nature for being such a brat). So it appears it will be okay for now and hopefully won't get any worse or you end up replacing the entire pool - what an expense when the sucker is only one year old?! So our hopes of having it all filled and filtering so we could possibly use it yet this weekend didn't happen. I think we can finish filling it tomorrow and hopefully start filtering the water.

Monkey wasn't feeling 100% today. I guess some of the other kids from daycare have had the quick less than 24 hour flu thing, which Teague seemed to suffer from today. It didn't seem to affect him too much, other than to make him more tired. So he slept a lot, which I joined in on that fun with a nice long nap of my own! We met Grandma and Gaga at Charlie's in Freeport for lunch and he actually fell asleep in my lap for the duration of lunch. So much for Grandma and Gaga getting to spend time with him!

Last night I met my friend Kelly out for dinner in Alex. We had such a good time and it is always good to catch up with her. We both are working moms so finding the time to stay caught up and only living 35 minutes away from eachother is crazy.

So this is weird to me. We wanted to keep our blog more private, which is why we changed the address because I started noticing locations of people that I didn't think I knew and yet these same someones consistently checks our blog from St. Louis, MO, Chicago, IL and Waterloo, ON! Now I would get it if they just ran across it once and checked out the blog - but these people check it consistently AND they know our new address. I don't know who you are, but if you are a long lost friend, relative, etc - please leave us a comment so we know you keep up on us, okay?! Thanks!

So the rest of the weekend we just plan to lay low and play outside a lot. Ryan is now finished with the baseball season so we will get to see a lot more of Daddy! I am looking forward to having him around more and I know he is looking forward to it as well.

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend!

1-2-3 and "It's" Still a She!

We love this warm weather. Love it. Love it. Bring on summer, PLEASE?! I don't think I can take one more day of that place I call work. I have never had such politics to deal with regarding a measly thing called a schedule (for the kids' classes). You wouldn't believe the nasty phone calls and visits (and names) I get from parents (and even some co-workers) because their kids cannot get EVERYTHING they want in their schedule. I wonder sometimes what will happen to them when (IF) they go to college and they realize that it's even harder to get the classes you want - will the parents call the registrar's office and say nasty things? Probably. Ugh. Time. For. Summer. Amen.

We had a follow up ultrasound today. Nothing wrong, but apparently my child (monkey #2) was very wild in utero during my U/S last month and they had a hard time getting the "perfect" pictures of some of the body (i.e. the spine - apparently it's difficult to get a picture of the whole spine when they are as "big" as they are at the 20 week scan so they have to do it in segments with the baby lying in the exact same position for all three segments). Apparently she was too wiggly for that last month (could it be the caffeine I drank before the appt to be sure that she would move around enough to see her "goods"?? I read that was what you were supposed to do to avoid a "shy" baby). So anyway, today we confirmed that she is really a she (first image we saw - sorry, no picture this time - much to the relief of Nana AGAIN), but she was being a bit of a stinker and was rolled up into a ball (she couldn't possibly be running out of room already?!), so not the best picture again, so we shall see what the verdict is on possibly needing ANOTHER U/S. I don't mind, I love seeing her!

Second big news (I know, I know - big deal to some of you) - Monkey can count to 7! What the heck?! I never taught him that, he just started counting out of the blue this weekend but will only do it when he feels like it and not when prompted. Whatev, it's still adorable!

Happy warm weather week!

Toddler 'tude!

We are dealing with a major toddler 'tude at our house these days. My lovely husband was so nice to inform me that "...he isn't even two yet! Can you imagine?" Wow, thanks babe for giving me the boost to get through this! Here is a snipet of what life is like now. It's impossible to get him more than one foot - or arm length - away from the camera. He is always saying "See? See?" whenever I have it out - he wants to see himself - hence his 22 month picture off to the right that is so close up. UGH! Is it bad when a 22 month old knows the word "crabby" (or when his mom and dad laugh at it)???

Good, Warm Weekend!

We had a nice weekend. The weather was warm and we got to be outside a lot. Ryan turned 30 and so my parents came to watch Teague so Ryan and I could spend the day/evening in Mpls. We went out to eat at PF Chang's, shopped and went to the Twins game. It was a great time.

Ryan did a lot of landscaping around the pool fence and back garage. I washed all the windows on the main floor and basement, cleaned the basement spic and span (with a toothbrush!) and went through all the girl clothes my sister gave me as well as the "unisex" items left over from Teague. I would say it was a productive weekend!

I am going on my second week of Jury Duty and so far, so good. I only had to report to the courthouse once thus far and it was really quite boring. They just gathered us potential jurors in a room and just sat there. I eventually got so tired and after looking around and realizing I didn't know any of these people I laid down on the chairs and went to sleep! I am sure it looked trashy, but I am pregnant people and I tire easily! (or just get bored easily?!)

So I went to two friends' garage sales who have girls and so I got a lot of girl things. Probably too much! And speaking of "girls" my mom was a touch mortified by me showing the babe's girl parts on the blog, so to be politically correct I took it down (aren't you so relieved, mom?!).

Have a good week. We hope the week is nice and please wish me luck that the rest of my '09-'10 scheduling/registration goes better than last week. I can't take one more parent phone call screaming at me that we don't offer enough classes for their kid, or that I am so awful for not letting them take college classes (when they can't pass the assessment exam). I am losing my patient/friendly customer service voice ASAP! =)

Two pics from the weekend:
