Off to a Busy Start!

Well we are already a month into the summer and I am confused as to where the time goes! We are so enjoying our time being with the kids playing, going for bike rides, sminning, and other excursions.

Now that June is almost over, Ryan's basketball commitments will slow down as well. He is usually gone a few days a week for leagues, tournaments, and practices.

I've been busy in June working my crisis job but with the likely state shutdown at midnight tomorrow, there will be no crisis and mental health services (think of how scarey that is that nobody will be monitoring the severest of mentally ill!!!). So while that is sad, I am looking forward to totally committing my time to my family. July is busy with birthdays, anniversaries, and trips.

Next week we leave with the entire Dusha clan to a getaway to the WI Dells. It will be fun once we get there but traveling with Goo Goo can prove to be quite frustrating at the least!

Its rainy out, but we'll take it!

The weather hasn't been great, but we've been having fun with summer break!

This week we went to Paynesville's Town & Country Days with my sister and her kids. It rained on us, but the kids made the best of it with snowcones, cotton candy, rides, and a parade!

Two cuties in a buggy!

What a cool lookin' chica!
On Tuesday Ryan and I had the whole day reserved to hang out in Minneapolis and go to a Twins game. We were bummed because it got rained out and there's talk of it not being rescheduled until Labor Day, not a good day when you work in education (unless it's a day game I suppose)!

This weekend Ryan is off to a college alumni golf outing so I'm taking the kids to see my dad for Father's Day and then back on Sunday afternoon to hang out with Ryan.

Summer is always so fun but goes by too quickly!

The First Swim of the Season!

We have the pool up and running - just in time for the short heat wave we had here! It's awesome to see how much our kids love the water. Little Lola gets her life jacket on and just kicks her little legs to wherever she wants/needs to go. Teague is a little fish and is enjoying our new water slide. I know this summer is going to be a lot of fun with the kids and the pool!

Here Teague is "feeling" out the slide without the water on it, once he was used to it with the water on it he was sliding down with his hands in the air

My 3 favs

Ryan with his "pirate face" perhaps?

A Trip to the LIttle Falls Zoo!

I guess it's official name is actually "Pine Grove Zoo", but we still call it the Little Falls Zoo. It's an easy road trip for us and it makes the kids so happy (especially Teague) to see the animals. It's actually quite nicely set up with a nice variety of animals. It was a fun kick off to the start of summer vacation! About 3 weeks ago Ryan took Teague on the ECFE bus to the Children's Museum and the Como Zoo.  I don't have pictures from the day out, but I know they had a good time bonding as father and son over a day totally dedicated to what Teague loves: animals!

I don't know what is up with Teague not looking at the camera when I take pictures, but here is a picture of Teague "protecting" Lola from the bears.  So sweet.

Welcome Summer!

Oh how happy we are that summer has arrived! This means bonfires, walks, swimming, visiting the animals at Dave's farm, bike rides, and late nights (and usually early mornings w/ kids)!

Teague showing off his painted toenails (Lola & I were painting ours & he wanted his painted as well, who was I to leave him out??); the funny thing is after his were painted a few days later 2 more little boys came to daycare w/ theirs painted as well because they told their mom that Teague had his painted, can you say trendsetter?

Teague and Lola "posing" (that's how they pose I guess)

Lola eating breakfast last weekend at Nana and Papa's (the reason for the picture was humor at how enormous Lola appears in that booster seat - her legs looked like they were overflowing)

And of course if I take a silly picture of Lola (above) then I have to take one of Teague doing a "silly face"!

the beautiful flowers my adorable husband sent me (just because)
