Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's

Well I think we might be on the up and up with sleep now. I RELUCTANTLY reverted back to trying Lola "cry it out" without help. And it seems to have worked. I know why it is referred to as a last ditch resort. I didn't have to hear her cry (I knew I would cave in) - Ryan listened to it. I slept in the basement with a sound machine right next to my face! It basically took her two nights of crying hard for about a half an hour. Not bad. Once in a while we still hear a small 1 second "shreak" in the middle of the night, but that's it. So now I am back in my own bed!

We visited the Stearns County Fair on Thursday. We had a nice time but overstayed our welcome I think as we all started to meltdown at the end! Teague (and Lola) went on nearly all the kid's rides, we saw every animal barn twice, ate our way through the other buildings then went grocery shopping and FINALLY home. I don't know who was more ready for the kids' bedtime - myself or the kids?!

The insurance adjuster was out to our house last Saturday. So like we thought we will be getting a new roof on the storage garage and our entire house, new siding, etc. There was damage to miscellaeous other belongings but I doubt we will replace those items.

Well tomorrow is already August. I cannot believe it. The summer is just flying by and now that we are all getting more sleep around here I hope we can "get out" and enjoy it more!

Dusha Grandkids

It is not often - actually never it seems - that the Dusha's take pictures. Actually we take pictures when either Grums, Ken and or Tan Man are visiting! Seriously, why don't we take more pictures during get togethers?! So whatever the reason - probably because I forget my camera EVERY time we get together and I should just make it a priority - all the Grandkids were together for the weekend. So like previously mentioned I forgot my camera, but did have the camera phone! =) Esther has this fab new camera from Ken and Grums so I should make her be in charge of more pictures and, Ken - will you please teach her how to email pics next time you visit also?! So the only grandkid missing is the babe in the oven of Dana! We are SO excited to update this picture to include Tan Man's little sister! YAY!

3 Years OLD!!

Teague with his Toy Story cake!

Relay for Life - Pray 4 Papa team!

Teague with his Long Neck Dinosaur cake

The cool way to show that you are "3"!

Just hanging out with Chuck E Cheese!

Butterfly Garden at Como (it was the hottest day of the summer - it felt like we were going to melt)!

All of us melting away at Como!

Table of 4!

Teague had such a fabulous "birthday week" (as they are referred to at our house because we celebrate ALL week)! On Monday he had a party at Tina's, Monday night Ryan's family came over and on his REAL birthday (Wednesday) our family along with my extended family went to the Como Zoo and Chuck E. Cheese's. It was a great week and I can't believe I have a 3 year old! The time just FLIES. Today I was sitting there watching Teague play and I just loved the innocence of his play. He was playing "imaginary" and just having a little conversation with all his Toy Story toys he got for his birthday. I just loved watching him play!

Last Friday we went to Morris for the Stevens County Relay for Life. What a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and excitement of the event. We all wore matching T-shirts (except for Papa who wore a Relay shirt). My dad continues to do fairly well. He has been golfing, came over and got his boat out of storage so we know that fishing must be in his future, and working on the Habitat for Humanity house. He is, however, still having some struggles with his aspirating at night and therefore pneumonia. We hope that will subside in time so he doesn't have to be on antibiotics so often.

As a parent I know I will be experiencing a lot of "1sts". Having to call 9-1-1 because my 3 year old choked yesterday on parade candy was not one of those memorable 1sts. Ugh. All I can say is I am really glad that I took infant and child CPR and 1st Aid. It definitely came in handy. Ryan is not home at all this week as he is gone working basketball camps. I started 1st Aid (Heimlich) on him immediately but he wasn't dislodging it so I dialed 9-1-1 and as I am explaining the problem I finally dislodged it. It was really scary! Afterwards he had a sore throat, but nothing that A LOT of freeze pops couldn't help.

This week I also weaned Lola and this wasn't a good week for that as she doesn't like to take a bottle from me but will take it from others. So since Ryan isn't home a bottle is proving difficult. She's hungry and teething. It's been a little rough. She did get the other bottom tooth through finally. If anyone has any tips on making her sleep better I would be happy (and I have tried cry it out, Ferber, Pick up put down, rocking, feeding, etc.) so any other advice is much appreciated!

On Saturday we experienced quite the hail and wind storm here. The entire north side of our house, back garage, swing set and fence were damaged. We are now waiting to hear from insurance on the next step. We had a contractor out here and it sounds like we need a new roof, siding, fence, swing set, fascia and sofits. Could be quite the project. And my plants took a MAJOR beating. Ugh.

Lola's 9 month (overdue) Post

Well I don't want Lola to be the "forgotten" second child - so this post is a bit overdue as she had her 9 month check up nearly one month ago already! As Dr. Heller put it "she's on the Dusha growth chart" (tall and big!) Mama's breastmilk is GOOD stuff! So she's 95th percentile for everything (Teague however was and still is off the charts)! 21 pounds, 2 ozs and 29" long! Gotta love my chuck-o babes!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We had a great weekend! We went to Auntie Loretta's cabin on Lake Pelican and then to the fireworks that evening.

Teague and Ryan "enjoying" the fireworks. It was about 10:15p at this point and Teague liked the first couple and then the lack of sleep started catching up with him and he was ready to go home!

Pretty baby Lola before our playdate with the Sakry's!

Nobody ever takes a picture of mommy, so here's my attempt at the self portrait with Lola!

Lola on the boatride PRE-LIFEJACKET. Once the lifejacket went on she was NOT happy!

Teague LOVED the water - the zero depth entry was fun for him as he is not used to being able to touch the bottom in our swimming pool! At one point he was up to his neck and turned to say "HI DADDY!" OYE!

Check out those cute baby legs!

Hi baby Lola!

Hi again sweet girl!

Hi Lola and Auntie!

He was SO excited about the pontoon ride - he said he had to wear his captain hat and steer the boat!

Hmmm, can you tell she DOES NOT enjoy the lifejacket?

"The Captain" and Uncle!

Heya there Captain!

Daddy and Lola!

Daddy and Lola again - STILL NOT ENJOYING THE LIFEJACKET!

Auntie and sweet baby Lola!

How cute are those toddler legs?!

Hey there Bieber Creeper!

Lola and Papa - whew was she ever relieved to be taken off of the Pontoon and into Papa's arms!
