We're back! - For now anyway.

Well we are back online, for now anyway. Our computer is still in the hospital, hopefully we will get it back this week. Right now we are using a borrowed laptop. Apparently this laptop DOES not like uploading any of my pictures from my camera, so I am unable at this point to upload any pictures. Argh.

I feel like I have been COMPLETELY out of touch with the world. I have read everyone's blogs and it seems like everyone is doing well. We are doing really well too.

Teague is a smiling, giggling bandit. We love it. We have the cutest video of him that we have dubbed "Mohammed Al-Teague" as he appears to be quite the boxer. Of course I am unable to upload that as well! But it is adorable. Of course everything Teague does is absolutely adorable in our eyes!

He has a fairly consistent bedtime of 8 pm now and sleeps until around 2 or 3 and then up again at 6:30 or 7. He naps about every 1.5 hours after the last time he woke and that seems to keep him a happy little boy! He is napping and sleeping at night in his crib, so one big obstacle overcome. Thank GOD!

Ryan is finishing up his football reffing in the next couple of weeks so we will have him all to ourselves for about 1 month until basketball starts. I dread the day that bball starts. We won't see much of him, but hopefully Teague is sleeping through the night then so I won't be as tired either.

I have been battling a cold for over a week now. I think that if I was able to sleep one full night I might be able to kick it in the butt, but Teague seems to not agree with me! This too shall pass!

Power Outage

Well our computer is in the computer hospital. Last Thursday we had a pretty major thunderstorm roll through the area. Along with the storm came a lightening strike to our electrical transformer which blew out our power for 36 hours. It was not fun. The electricity evens runs our water pump, so no water for 36 hours either. So I needed to use a lot of Teague's baby wipes just to wash my hands and the make-up off of my face! After the power was restored on Friday evening we discovered that our computer, cable, phone and mini refrigerator were all toast. So I am not ignoring your emails, I just do not have internet access for the time being! Today, however, Teague and I took a trip up to visit Nana and Papa for the day while Daddy is working, so I am in with the technology world again!

Teague is doing so well! He is thinking about rolling over. He smiles all the time and tells such fun little cooing stories! He is still rather unphased by his toys, but does enjoy sitting in his exer-saucer. I think he feels all "big boy" in there because he sits up "by himself"!

Chunky Monkey

Well, we might not call him Dunstan the Monkey anymore, but Teague is definitely a "Chunky Monkey". Of course I say that with all the affection in the world! But my little chunker is 2 months old and weighs 15 pounds, 7 oz. He is 25 inches long and has a 15 1/2 inch head circumfernce. So for those of you keeping track, he has gained 5 pounds, 7 oz., grown 2 inches length-wise and his head has grown 2 inches since birth (his brain is getting so big because he is SOOO smart)! So all in all, he is in the 95th percentile for everything. What a big boy!

The shots went about as well as can be expected. He definitely DID NOT like them, but I didn't expect that he would. He SCREAMED bloody murder, but the second they were done he was fine and went to sleep. So he slept from 11:30 until 2:30, got up and ate, and is sleeping again. WOW! That's the most he is slept for a nap since he was a newborn! I am getting stuff done today! So I think he did pretty well.

Some things we did learn today: he has a herniated belly button - which I guess is normal and on most infants it will close on its own in the next year. That's good - we don't want surgery! Teague also has acid reflux, which I suspected as he was spitting up a lot, has a raspy voice and his spit up smelled a little acidic. Teague doesn't act as though it bothers him and again, he should grow out of it, so I opted out of doing any medication for it at this point. And lastly, he has a slight case of thrush that just won't go away, so he got his mouth "painted" with this medication that should make it go away. The first stuff he was on about 2 weeks ago made it better, but it didn't completely go away. Jen, his nurse, said he just looks like he has school spirit now (you know, Melrose Dutchmen colors are purple and gold - just like the Vikings)! Here is a picture of how terrible it looks after getting your mouth painted with that stuff:

So all in all, his 2 month birthday wasn't too bad. And even mommy didn't cry about the shots, so we can call it a good day because of that!

Bumbo Chair

Well, we have found ONE toy that Teague actually likes! Now, this is in addition to the "toys" that he finds humorous on our walls. He loves my metal scrolls that are on the walls, plants and picture frames. But not all the Infantino, Sassy and other brand name infant toys. Alas, he does enjoy one infant toy - the Bumbo chair. Here are some pictures:

On Friday Teague will be 2 months old! To celebrate this momentous occasion, Teague will get his shots. Oh, great fun. I am NOT looking forward to that. I have been working on bulking him up so that those pokes won't hurt quite so bad in his chunky thighs!

We have been enjoying our days together. It's still so surreal to me that school has started and I am not back there! I don't mind though! Especially when Ryan said it was just scorching in the school last week! One last final and fun thing - Teague giggled for the first time yesterday at Papa (on Grandparent's day nonetheless)! It was so cute. He has had a few more giggles including when I placed him in the Bumbo chair today.

Hope you have a nice week!

Date Night

Our date night on Saturday was really nice. Teague was an oggling, smiling, cooing, silly boy for his Nana and Papa - so it was fun for them and also for us because he was being a good boy! We went to the Italian restaurant in Morris (YUMMY!) and then to the movie. Ryan had to remind me what the last 2 Bourne movies were all about, but all in all it was an awesome time out for us. Here is a picture of the three of us before Ryan and I handed Teague over...

Teague seems to be more and more fun. Right now he really seems to be aware of being outside and looking at the trees, flowers, etc. He is smiling sooo much, I love it! Of course I don't think I am quick enough with the camera and then the next time when I don't have the camera around he will smile for about 2 minutes straight!
He is getting better about sleeping in his crib and he officially is done sleeping in his bassinet. That tall little stinker is too long for it! We measured him today and he is 25"!! Pretty soon he will outgrow his carseat and they are suppose to be in those buckets until they are one year old!
Tonight we are going out for dinner to celebrate Grandma's birthday. We are hoping he will have a nice, long nap since we are going to a nice restaurant and he needs to be on his best behavior!!
