Spring is here!....or is it??

Well we are taking advantage of the spring like weather as I know from living in MN long enough that this is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!! But we'll take it nonetheless! Basketball is JUST about done - I don't call it done until the state tournament has been completed (which will be in one week), but having Ryan home a couple of evenings during the week this week has been nice. We are all finally feeling better and hoping to stay healthy for a long time now. It was rough going for a few days last week being the primary caretaker and being sick myself. Ugh. I won't get into the gory details of it all.

REGARDLESS....I am proud to say that Teague is officially potty trained. Trained himself in the same day he decided he wanted to start going. No accidents - not once. I cannot believe it. I guess there is some truth to waiting until they are ready! Horray for only one in diapers!! =)
Next week Wednesday brings my dad's surgery. For those that have left comments on here or on my dad's caringbridge site, I really appreciate the support. It has really proved to me who my friends are and who cares about us through thick and thin, so thank you. Please continue to pray for my dad and our family through next week - it's a MAJOR surgery and I am very anxious about it all.

Have a nice weekend!
Isn't it an oxymoron if there is snow on the ground and your kids are swinging/playing in the sandbox?!

Lola's 2nd trip to see the cows in her "whole" life....the first time she was 48 hours old. Lucky her to smell THAT smell so early on...

Playing outside. Yes, it is 60 degrees out and Lola's in a snowsuit and Teague has winter boots, hat and mittens on.

Trying to get a nice picture of my two lepricans in their matching "boy" and "girl" St. Patrick's Day shirts - the shirts say "Sham Rocker"! So take #1.....

...Take #2....

...and take #3....it's as good as it will get!

Too Funny!

So Ryan and I take turns on the weekend of sleeping in. Today (Saturday) was my morning to sleep in (much needed while I am battling a nice case of strep throat). When I got up (we aren't doing anything or going anywhere today) - this is what daddy had Lola dressed in...........

How funny is that?! I mean most dads would pick the absolute easiest thing possible to put on their child - but nope, Ryan has her in tights (!) and a complicated-to-put-on-dress! He said "I just thought she would look cute in this!" Now who's playing dress up?! =)

Here's baby Lola "talking back" to mama!

Highs and Lows

Life has been like a rollercoaster around here lately. We are having our highs and lows!

The biggest high - Teague has decided that being potty trained is pretty cool! He goes potty "on demand" meaning I will tell him to sit on the potty before we leave for somewhere and he will say "want to watch me, mommy?" and will actually pee. He has kept his diaper dry for a few days now and is SO proud of himself (he won't wear underwear or pull ups - must be a "security" thing for him to remain in a diaper? Regardless we will just follow his lead). I seriously can't believe it. We tried on and off for a number of months now and everyone told us that he would start whenever he was ready and not to push it - and I guess everyone was right. I was convinced he was going to Kindergarten in diapers! I am SOOOOOOOO proud of him. He reminds me daily now that he is a "big boy". While I am enjoying the idea of only one in diapers - I just can't believe how fast he is growing up before my very eyes!!

Lola. Oh, poor baby Lola. She is battling her first major illness. She has a "double, very inflamed, pus ear infection". She is miserable. On top of that I took her in again this evening because she was having some retractions with her breathing. The initial O2 monitor read her O2 sats at 79% (OMG!) and then once they found a pediatric one it was reading it in the low 90's. Whew. So they think she also has a mild case of RSV - we just need to "watch" her and then bring her in if her breathing gets worse. So she is on an antibiotic and some "numbing" ear drops - which must be magical for the cost of them, oye. Whatever works to make my little baby smile again!

And Teague monster. Has anyone ever heard of a 2 1/2 year old needing "Cry it Out"?! I mean seriously, he has been sleeping through the night for nearly 2 years now and going to bed without issue and now all of the sudden the kid refuses to fall asleep at night. He knows he cannot get out of his bed without asking mommy or daddy but he literally sits on the side of his bed for HOURS crying and whining about "I don't want to be in here", "I don't like this", "Mommy? Daddy? Mommy? Daddy? I don't like being in here!", until he finally falls asleep. Seriously?! What is going on???? I am going crazy. So I purposely go in at 6:45 a.m. to wake him up (which IRRITATES him) and don't let him nap more than 2 hours during the day now and it still doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I just keep hoping that this is one of many "one week phases" as I like to refer to all the changes that occur in kids' lives.

I am good if anyone wanted to know. Ryan is even better since they won their first playoff game tonight! Have a good weekend.
Lola's chubby hands - she gets toys like this and her paci stuck on her fat thumb all of the time!

Awww, I am in Love with My Babies!

Some cute pics and an even cuter video of my babies...I just love these two little people sooo much!

Teague & cousin Chase with matching jam-jams....both are a bit short - Teague's are a size 3 and meant for this season and Chase's are a size 4 that I purchased for Teague to wear next season but Chase needed a pair one night when he forgot his!

This is a typical "Lola expression" - 1 finger in the mouth. She often falls asleep like this too - very cute now but at least if it were a paci I could take it away eventually!

"Hey brother - how's your milk?"

Snuggling while watching "Kipper"

Teague singing "Little People" theme song...with his paci - as an fyi he only is SUPPOSED to have his paci when in bed, sitting on the couch or in the car. I've been a bit lax with that while staying home.... =/
