It's been fun...

LOOK AT ME - this is the first time I stood in the bath!

Our (non-compliant) children and us before heading to the family picnic portion of the reunion.

Mmmmmm, lovin' her food.

This is what my assistant (Teague) and I were able to catch for pictures in an attempt to take Lola's 8 month pic....

I am feeling nostalgic that the end of the school year is here. Normally I would be SO happy, but I am feeling like I cannot believe how fast these 8 months have went with Lola! It's been the time of my life and while I know I still have about 4 months until I go back and I don't go back until Lola's 1 - I still cannot believe the school year is almost over!

Teague: we had an AWESOME time on our mommy and Teague trip to the Children's Museum and Como Zoo. He was SO good on the bus and on our field trip in general. Man, maybe we wouldn't have behavior issues if he were an only child by chance?! He loved being with me alone. I loved it so much too! Soooo on the other end of the spectrum is my almost 3 year old asserting his independence DAILY. Oh boy. I won't go into the brutal details.

Lola: she is a busy creepy crawler. She sure can get herself from point A to point B very quickly! She now can pull herself into a standing position on furniture, etc. but isn't sure what to do once she is standing. Luckily we haven't run into that at nighttime.....yet. She is so happy and smiley! I just adore her little smiles! She still has the perfect little gummy grin - no teeth yet. But she is definitely "OVER" baby food and would rather mash table food around in her mouth!

We had my 15 year class reunion this past weekend. It was a good time to get back and see some familiar faces and have a night out with adults. This Memorial Day weekend I am on call ALL weekend - but nobody else would take the shifts so I am getting quite the incentive to take them!

With the warm weather we will be breaking in the pool this week. Gotta love the heat as a pool owner!

A Great Day

Mother's Day: It was the perfect day with my own mom, but also with my own kids and husband! I feel so overwhelmed with joy to get to be a mom to the world's most beautiful and wonderful kids (and thanks honey for making me a mom!). I am one lucky chica! Here I am with my kiddos outside of the hospital on Mother's Day....

My dad: he had another 6 day stint in the hospital. He developed bacterial pneumonia. He is back home now but has to return to the hospital daily for IV antibiotics as his new stomach didn't tolerate the oral antibiotics.

Lola: FUN! FUN! FUN! She claps and waves bye/hi (with both hands), wrestles a lot with Teague (I referee), she thinks Teague is hilarious and she just smiles at everything/everyone. Such a precious little goo goo (as Teague calls her).

Teague: On Friday I am taking Teague on a bus with 35 other preschoolers and their parents to the Como Zoo and Children's Museum. In the words of Teague "You're not going daddy. You are going to work. Yoya is going to Tina's. Just me and Mama. We're riding a bus. We need to wear seatbelts. I am gonna bring my manoculars (binoculars) to look at the giraffes." It should be fun, yet interesting considering there is nothing on the agenda about "nap time" and he still takes a 2-3 hour nap daily. I will keep you posted!

Ryan and I: we had a nice night away last week for Ryan's birthday. We went to a Twins game and I got to sleep all night! WOO HOO! Lola woke my mom approximately 20 times and drank 24 ounces in a 4 hour period. No wonder she's so ooey gooey. Ok, and no - she didn't get up 20 times, but there are nights when it feels like it!! I also had a garage sale last weekend to get rid of all baby and maternity clothes and I wasn't sad to see one bit of it go. I made a nice chunk of change to make it worth my time, but I am sure glad that is over!

Happy little "Goo Goo/Yoya/Lizard" - all her names!

Not so happy about me trying to take his picture!

Happy little Lola and distracted little Teague with Daddy!

Yep - he is "sitting in Yoya's yap"

Here he forced her to lay down to "take a nap" with him. I do believe she may be in a headlock here.

Check out the super cool hat in the toy section and Walmart. Oh, and what do you think of his uber-chic rain boots that he can put on himself - the outfit is GREAT!

Here Teague is pushing Lola up an down the driveway.

It's dangerous play time at the Dusha home. Teague apparently needs a helmet - I really think it should be Lola in a helmet at all times while her brother is around!

And this is what happens when Mommy goes out for the evening with her friends. Teague found two PERMANENT markers and while Ryan went downstairs for less than a minute he wrote all over Lola's face with hot pink and lime green markers. She is mortified. Poor second child!

We're doin' well!

We're doing well here at the Dusha home. Not a lot to report, but still thought I should update!

Lola is a crawling maniac. Soon we will need to put the gates up. She's still not THAT quick (takes a lot to haul that gooey tush around)! She is just the happiest, squealiest, ooey gooey baby!

Teague has quite the personality. He's learning lots of good and naughty tricks and likes to keep us on our toes (i.e. not laughing when he says things that are super inappropriate, yet hilarious because we have NO idea when/where he picked up those sayings/motions, whatever!

So, life is good.

We are off to Mpls tomorrow to celebrate Ryan's bday. I am so thrilled just to sleep all night. Ryan, he is thrilled to watch the Twins in the new ballpark! And I am SO thankful that my mom is willing to give me an night of interrupted sleep to take care of Lola-son, non-sleeper-son!

Here's a cute video (even if it's black you can still click "play" and it should start)
