Pickin' Berries!
So it all started when I was going to transplant some of late Grandma Sigri's Tiger Lillies out of my dad's garden this spring. My dad showed me the general area of the lillies and so I dug a few out and transplanted them into my flower garden this spring. Well instead of getting some of Grandma's Tiger Lillies I ended up getting some of my dad's strawberry plants. Teague loved that they grew some strawberries that he could eat so I thought maybe he would want to go to the strawberry patch just a mile from our house and pick some berries. He loved it and was such a good helper! Even though it was just a mile down the road I OF COURSE forgot his shoes so we had to make a U-turn to go home and get some shoes. Weeeeeellllll, that small county road apparently has ditches that are VERY steep - so needless to say the back end of my car fell into the ditch and my front wheel was OFF THE GROUND! Luckily some nice boys were driving by and they along with Ryan were able to lift my back end up and we squeeled (literally) out of the ditch. Oh my gosh....Ryan was NOT happy with me! So we went home and made a few pies - one of which we delivered to farmer Dave and we saved some berries to make desserts for this weekend. Enjoy our pictures - and no, I don't know the Grandma in the background whose butt is in every picture!

Wow one month nearly over!
Wow, June is nearly over! Crazy to think that the 4th of July is just around the corner!
We are really enjoying the weather and the use of the swimming pool. Teague has become very brave and yet responsible about the pool. He doesn't just jump in or act crazy, he is cautious about the water, which we are proud of him. He likes to swim around and is starting to get a bit frustrated that he can't swim "faster"! He's getting very good at hitting his baseball that Ryan pitches to him and is really loving playing with "goo goo" (Lola). They are too cute with their wrestling and playing. He will say "Goo goo, say 'Daaa'" and then she will copy him! Now if we could only encourage him to teach her more sophisticated words!
My big swimmer!
Lola giving Teague kisses!
Lola. Oh my Good thing she's soooooo cute. I am wore out the way you should be with a newborn. I never had the newborn babies that wouldn't sleep long stretches at night, I was blessed with two babies who sleep well until 3 or 4 months and then.....nevermind. It just is sucking in a major way. I feel like a total zombie and so I have to work rather hard at having enough energy to play with Teague everyday. Good thing is that she naps really well and she just cut her first tooth on the bottom and I believe #2 and #3 are working their way out too.....so here's to hoping!
Ryan is finishing up with his bball camps and whatever else he does with bball. He loves swimming with the kids in the pool and I am SO glad to have him home. With goo goo not sleeping I really need help tag teaming the kids. I have said a couple of times that being back at work would be less work than this.......but don't get the wrong idea, it's not like I am excited about my return! =)
A couple of weeks ago we looked across the road to see a cow in our neighbor's yard (not the farmer) - here there was an accident where a cow trailer was hit down the road and two cows got out. So that was our entertainment for the day! Ahhhh, life in the country!
Ryan had a nice Father's Day and he celebrated by going to Rogers for a bball tourney with his boys. So the kids and I had my mom and dad and sister and her family over for a nice day of swimming!
Krista and I with my dad for Father's Day - he's doing SO well!!
Papa and the grandkids on Father's Day
Me, well I not only am tired, I look horrible. I have been dealing with this funky eye infection for nearly a month - which means no contacts for me or make-up. If you know me well you know I wear extended wear contacts (i.e. wear them to bed because my vision is so bad I cannot see the alarm clock in the middle of the night) - so I have been wearing my coke bottles, er I mean glasses. So it really doesn't help my physical appearance as of late....

Seriously?!
I know everyone thinks their kid is smart and while I do think Teague is smart, he is witty and sharp! So a month ago when we went to the zoo and children's museum we were seriously running late - like what else is new in my world of mothering two children?! So we needed to catch the bus but also get Lola to Tina's first. I kept telling Mr. Pokey himself, "Teague, hurry up! We're gonna miss the bus!" and then I also reminded him about 30 times on the way there that we were going to the museum first because I didn't want a total freak out session when we pulled up to the museum and he proclaimed "THIS IS NNNNNOOOOOOTTTTT the zoo!" So due to the fact that Ryan is gone all week to work, bball camps and NDSU for bball tourneys I have been trying to come up with fun activities to entertain my kids with during these long, cool days. Yesterday I decided to take them to the Little Falls Zoo (I KNOW! A zoo in Little Falls - who'd a thunk?!). When we got into the car Teague says "I sure hope we don't miss the bus" - I laughed so hard, I can't believe he thought of that. And then about 2 miles down the road he says, "Now Mama, we have to go to the museum FIRST, okay?"

Summa TIME!
Her nickname is Justin Bieber for a reason....

The receptionist at our Chiro office is walking in the Relay for Life walk on Friday night and asked Teague to color some luminaries to place around the track in honor of those who have/had cancer. I only have a picture of the bags as Teague doesn't really appreciate me taking his picture as of late....
The happiest non-sleeper-son ever!

Summer is here and I am excited about it. It means more time in the sun and swimming. It also means Ryan will be home more so we can tag team on our kids! Ha!
Lola: challenges me all night. She also waves bye bye on a regular basis. Is totally and utterly in love with her brother and everything that he does. And spends whatever time he is not around trying to crawl up my legs and into my arms. And I have come to the conclusion that her and sleep are no longer on speaking terms. The only thing she has going for her is that she is so happy and freakin' adorably cute. She loves her human paci in the middle of the night and I am trying not to stress about this because Teague was the EXACT same way until one night around 10 months he decided to finally sleep all night and he never turned back....I am hopeful anyway!
Teague: challenges me all day. He is so sharp. He tells me nearly every time we go to Tina's that he doesn't need shoes and I just say "Ok" and then bring them along anyway. Once last week I forgot them and when we pulled into Tina's I said "Oh shoot, I forgot your shoes. We need to run home and get them" - which he loved that longer time in the car because it just means he can have his paci for a longer amount of time (he only gets it in the car or at nap/bedtime now). So yesterday was the same ol' song and dance except I was in a hurry to get to an appointment. We pulled into Tina's and he says "Oops, you didn't bring my shoes. I guess we have to go home now" and I just said "too bad....you won't have shoes today"! Another thing I laughed about: Yesterday when he got home he came down into the basement where Lola and I were and he says to me "What's going on here?" - he and Lola wrestle and play so hard sometimes. She loves it, but sometimes he doesn't realize his own strength and so I often say to him "What's going on here?" to which he usually confesses his wrong doing (taking a toy, pinching her cheeks, etc.) Monkey see, monkey do...
