Easter Fun!
We had a great Easter (aside from Lola feeling a little crummy). We went to Morris, ate a delicious feast, had an Easter egg hunt outside, and played and played and played outside in the beautiful weather! Teague was so tired from playing all day with his cousins that he slept until 9:45 am on Monday morning! The kids made a haul and had a great time.
Easter Pictures
I wanted to post a nice Easter picture of the kids dressed up; since not 1 was good enough here they all are. As you can tell it just went from bad to worse...in Lola's defense she did have a fever (teeth coming through).

Coloring Easter Eggs!
I'm sure many parents colored Easter eggs with their kids as babies, but this was our first time coloring eggs at our house. Last year Teague might have "got it" but with my dad's surgery, hosopital stay, etc. it didn't happen. So we did it this year and it was a hit, at least for Teague and the Bayer kids...as you can tell from the pictures Lola was less than impressed; that may be due to the fact that every time we gave her an egg she smashed it on the counter and attempted to smoosh it. She lost coloring priviledges rather quickly! Now we have a dozen hard boiled eggs and who will eat them??

Cancun 2011
87 degrees and sunny for 5 days; that was our weather while in Cancun last week. We had such a fantastic time. It was the perfect amount of time away - 5 days. Two years ago when we went to Mexico I was 4 months pregnant with Lola and we were there 7 days - far too long for me to be away from Teague so I knew I didn't want to be gone that long again. We did what we always do on beach vacations; lots of sun, swimming, tequila, food, and relaxation...my favorite kind of vacation! The kids were totally fine and had a great time with my sister's family for 2 days and then time with my parents for about 3 days.

2011 DiversiCom Teacher of the Year
Last Thursday Ryan was surprised during a school wide symposium by being named the teacher of the year! Wow, there was no doubt in my mind that he is so awesome at his job, but what a great honor to have others notice it as well! When it was announced the students immediately jumped to their feet giving him a standing ovation. I wished I could have taken the kids with to work that morning but then he would have known something was up (I was one of only a few that knew in advance); I wondered if he was going to suspect something when I was asking what he was going to wear to work that day since I don't usually care about that since getting the kids and ourselves dressed is more of a priority! Again, sorry if you get sick of hearing this, but I'm so proud of my husband. And to think he picked me to share in his greatness! ;)

Teague's Day Out

About a week ago my sister, her kids, Teague, and I went to the MOA to redeem the all day wristbands that they got as a Christmas gifts from Nana and Papa to use @ Nickelodeon Univerese. They all had a good time. I couldn't believe that Teague wasn't more scared of all the big rides that he went on with his big cousins. He loved it! His favorite ride, however, remains the Backyardigans Swings (growing up I remember the swings always being my favorite as well). We were there from 10a-6:30p with only a small break for lunch @ the Rainforest Cafe and a stop @ Sealife (formerly Underwater World). Teague was pooped out since he didn't get his daily nap in; but he conked out as soon as we hit the road to head home.
