Where is the summer going??!!

Ah! The summer is going by WAY too fast! I can't believe tomorrow is July and that in two weeks Teague will be 1!!!

We had a BBQ and pool party on Saturday - even though the weather was 65, rainy and windy. It just didn't seem right to try to re-schedule. A lot of people still came to the party and the kids didn't mind the weather - the pool was nice and warm at 85 degrees! Teague was totally in heaven with so many kids at our house! He thought it was awesome. Of course he was trying to hug most of them, he is such a lover...and some of the kids weren't so sure about him always wanting to hug him. I guess it is time we start teaching about that thing called a personal bubble. It's just too cute and irresistable right now! Here are some pictures from the party:

Last Thursday he crawled right into the pool. Yikes. Of course I was right there. He likes to crawl over and try to feel the water. Chase and Skylar were already in the water playing. Teague and I were in our regular clothes. I turned to say something to my sister and right when I did that she pointed and screamed. Yep, he crawled head first into the pool. I jumped in immediately and all was fine. I just remember as I was jumping in I was looking at him and he was sinking looking straight up with his eyes wide open, but he was still sucking on his paci! When I swooped him up I hit his head on the ledge a little and that made him whine for about 1 second and then he just looked around like "what just happened?!". He was fine and thankfully never stopped sucking on the paci, so that's probably why he didn't get any water in his mouth or nose!

The 4th of July is right around the corner and we are going to do the traditional parade and fireworks in Hancock. We will stay with Nana and Papa for a couple of days and come back to enjoy our own pool.

Happy early 4th of July!

Teague the Fish

We are having an awesome summer break thus far! The pool, deck and fence are done and we are finally enjoying some warm weather! Teague loves the water - even when it was only 65 degrees! He is doing better now - over the weekend he developed another ear infection from teething those top I and molar teeth through. He breaks bottom teeth through like no big deal, but for whatever reasons those top ones really bug him. He was pretty sick over the weekend, but is back to his hungry and happy self.

Here he is swimming with his bud, Olivia:

I am such a big boy, look at me walking!!!

Oh, this is nice - no swim diaper! (his privates are blurred out by his mama on purpose!!!)

He had a visit from Teague's Aunt Grums from Seattle, her new boyfriend Ken and friend Shari. He had a great time, even though he wasn't feeling 100%. It was great to see them again! And Ken seemed pretty fantastic! I would say he is quite the trooper for coming to MN to meet all the family and as far as I know he still likes Dana! ha ha.

His newest trick: blowing kisses! What a honey, loveable little boy!

Happy 1st Father's Day to the best Daddy Ever!

Happy Father's Day! Especially to those like Ryan who are celebrating their first official one! I don't know how many times today (and virtually everyday for that matter) Ryan and I just looked at Teague and said "Oh my gosh, I can't believe how awesome Teague is. He's the best present ever!" I know I say it a lot, but I don't really think I can say it enough - we are so blessed with Teague. He totally rocks our world! And it helps that Ryan is seriously the best dad I have ever seen with a child. He soaks up every moment with Teague possible and the way they interact together - it totally melts my heart. I know I said when Teague was born that seeing Ryan with him made me love him more and in a new way, but every day that love for me grows more and more. I (along with Teague) are so lucky to have him. Thanks Ryan, you rock!

Happy Father's Day!!!

11 Months Old!

Well I believe that technically Teague is still a baby. In one month he will be one, then I think I have to call him a toddler - and that is exactly what he is acting like these days! He is finding his personality and it involves throwing himself on the ground when he doesn't get any more of mama's ice cream shake or play with her phone. It's actually quite hard not to laugh. Here is a photo of what he looks like when he really wants my phone and I am trying to take a picture of him on it:

Here he is playing, er...eating dirt at the park!

On Friday I took Teague and Skylar to a circus put on by students from the circus camp at St. John's Prep school. It was cute - and Teague sat for the whole 1.5 hours on my lap just watching. He was so enthralled by the music and all the kids. Skylar loved the cotton candy the best.

But he is still such a good boy. He is now into giving hugs and kisses. Here he is giving a hug to Daddy.... Is that not soooo precious?!
Teague is overall doing really well. Everyday he walks more and more and crawls less. He still looks like a drunken sailor! Maybe we shouldn't let him suck on Papa's empty beer bottle?!

Summer, summer, summertime!!

WHOOO HOOO!!! The students are gone, the seniors are graduated (well some of them anyway) and it's time to relax and play with Teague!!! Today is our last day of work (thanks to the snow storm in April we have a make up day today). I still have two extra days to do sometime this summer, but that's it. Other than that, not much else is new. Teague is walking, just not consistently. He loves being outside and especially has taken an interest in playing with other kids. He stayed the day with my friend Amy and her kids on Thursday because Tina was closed. Amy said he loved Olivia's doll (Olivia is his age - and his girlfriend!). She said he would go over and hug the doll and cradle it and crawl around with it! Isn't that funny - he has never really been around any baby younger than him as he is the youngest at daycare and he hasn't been around dolls - isn't it weird how he just "knows" to hug and cradle a baby?! Must be because his mama and daddy love him up all the time?! Here are some new pictures of him.

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Well we had a great time at Uncle Bola's birthday party this weekend. His son, Jason, flew up from N.C. and surprised him and then my aunt Jeri and her husband Robert from Texas (I think she calls herself "Ant Jeri" - must be a southern thing) surprised him at the party. It was emotional, but so exciting. I think Bola was really surprised and touched. Unfortunately after the party he seems to be doing a little worse with the cancer, but he is down in Mpls for some appointments with a Dr. there. Hopefully he will get some better news. Teague was good at the party. Took his normal nap and then played like crazy with all the cousins and extended cousins. He went on a few wagon rides, played in the sandbox (aka: ate sand) and ate TONS of food. He was in his glory. The food was amazing - a pig roast, mmmmmmmm!!!

Teague has been very busy at making public appearances. Last week on Friday he came to school with mama and daddy to be a guest speaker in the Child Development class. He was so good even though it was during his nap time. He just crawled around the circle entertaining the whole class. Since he didn't have much to say besides "dada, DAAAAAAAAAADA, AAAHHHHHH, DAA", we did a majority of the talking. I think the students really cared little about what we said and were more interested in watching Teague eat like a pig, drink from his sippy cup and crawl around. He found the "Baby Think it Over" babies (you know, those babies that have a computer in them and they cry and need to be fed, burped, rocked or have their diaper change and then the student is graded on how well they took care of the baby) and loved them. I told Ryan I think that Teague is ready for his own doll. He wasn't as convinced.

Then Saturday was the party. Then on Monday we celebrated Skylar's 7th birthday. And yesterday Ryan and I needed to do some shopping so Teague went to Grandma's while we went out for dinner and shopped. I promised Teague that he would stay home with us tonight and just get to play with his toys at home. He seemed happy about that.

Other goings ons:

* He has 4 teeth up top and 2 on the bottom and if you can believe this - he is getting a molar! Poor boy. His gum is bruised black and blue from it, but he seems fine and doesn't complain.
* We have 4 days left of school and then we will be home with Teague! YIPPEE!!! I can't wait to be home with him and just be able to play!
* The pool still looks like a toilet (that's what Jaci called it) - hopefully now that all the chemicals are in and the filter is on, the water will look less rusty and more clear!

Have a great week.
