First Day of School

Yesterday was Teague's first day of school at the Montessori school.  We think it is going to be a great fit for him.  We really contemplated whether kindergarten was best (he was just 5 in July, so kind of young yet) but yet he seemed so much more ready than just part time preschool (which is the only option in Melrose).  The Montessori allows for him to work at his own pace and level, so if he is only ready for preschool level in some subjects he will work at that level, but if he is ready for 1st grade math then he works at that level.  We've only had rave reviews of students that attend the Montessori.  They've had higher test scores, etc. and are usually reading at higher levels, which being a good reader is the cornerstone for learning any subject. So we are optimistic that this is the best place for Teague.  We have even contemplated keeping him there for an extra year instead of doing public kindergarten next year.  We will see what the year brings!
