My Favorite (and not so great) Kid Sayings

Kids are so hilarious. This age, especially Lola, is fun hearing their new words.

Lola's Words/Sayings:
-"Teaaaaaggie, wax!" (Relax)
- Overheard from her dark room, from her crib after she'd been sleeping for about 20 minutes while Teague was crying and having a meltdown: (in her soft, sleepy, precious voice) "No Teague. No Teague. Go nigh nigh! No no no Teague."

Teague:
"Just please don't talk to me."
"Just please get away from me."
"Just please get out of my room."
As you can read he is trying to keep manners while exerting his independence. Super.

Birthday Parties and Trips to the Zoo!

Well today marks the 3rd Friday I've had off with my kids. It's been so fun, and we've kept quite busy.

My first Friday we went to my sister's to have lunch with my mom and her 4 sisters. It doesn't happen that often that they all get together as my aunt, Orla, lives in LA. She comes to visit about once every one-two years.

Last week I took the kids to the Pine Grove Zoo in Little Falls and had a picnic. There were hardly any people there so early in the day so we had the run of the place. It was so fun to have a picnic with them. We would've headed home but Ryan came home sick with the stomach flu, so we steered clear and the kids took a mini nap in the car and then they ran errands with me. Running errands with both kids is not something I do very often, but they were very good!

Today we will lay low, try to get the house clean as we are having some friends over before the football game tonight. If the kids are up from their nap I will take them to the homecoming parade as well.

Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Being cute in the car on her way to her Bonanza bday bash!

Showing everyone what you say to Swiper!

Opening presents; I love this picture with Megan in the background, she looks so excited. She's such a great helper with the kids.

Picnic at the zoo

Lola running at the zoo.

...yep, still running.

The best picture I could get of the two of them together.

Lola is 2!!

Wow, my "baby" is not a baby anymore - she's a toddler! It has been a fantastic 2 years with Lola. She's absolutely hilarious, stinky, sweet, naughty, lovable and mischievous all wrapped into one little 2 year old body! She loves telling you that she's "twooo", loves to repeat every word we say and loves to play pretend, especially with her best friends Boots, Dora, Diego (Gaygo) and Caillou. She's very much a tom boy who loves to wrestle and a little daredevil. Sometimes I feel there is not much girly about her aside from her cute piggy tails and the pink that I dress her in. She tackles her brother and there's not a lot about her character that would be described as dainty or gentle! But that is what makes her so fun! She currently loves to say "Saaaaweee" (sorry) and then promptly hit you (while smiling) and that makes it very hard not to laugh! But she's very quick to say "Hug?" or "keeess?" (kiss) as well. She's a well rounded, normal 2 year old (please refer to post below to understand how Lola's brain currently works).

We had a fun time celebrating Lola turning 2 and Krista turning 29 (again - she could just as well be 29 as she looks it!). Krista says she feels bad for Lola that she has to share her birthday with her Auntie, but I really think it's special and nice that Krista doesn't mind sharing. I told my sister that it's really my fault for self inducing (my Dr was going to be out of town, they wanted to medically induce for a week prior and she needed the cool birth date of 09-18-09, so self induce I did)! Annnnnyyywway, Lola had a awesome little Dora themed fiesta. We love you VERY much, stinky naughty baby!
Mommy, Daddy and Goo Goo

The Table of 4!

Attempt #1 at an individual picture of the bday girl....she's running....

...still running...

....holy cow, I'm tired; she's still running...
A little blurry, but here is the 2 second-half moving-but still got a picture.
Oh, the boys are trapping her, QUICK GET A PICTURE!

The birthday girls, one staying still, one not. so. much.

SHE LOVED the Dora Bday Banner.  We actually have left it up because she loves to stare at it.  When she stops running that is.

"WHAT?? Ok, Cheese."

A Dora/Diego themed party.

Her fav gift - A Dora table!  And she's standing on it.  Isn't that what we do, stand on tables and jump?

She got A LOT of help opening gifts from her bro.

Such a silly boy!

Typical stink face.

She loves this table!  She pretends to have tea parties at it: "Boots, wha nak (snack)? Dooce (juice)? You wha nana (want banana)? Mmmm, goooood."

Stink face with her banner.

"See the camera?  Say cheese Lola! Oh no, stop eating the frosting.  Say cheese!  Never mind.  Take the picture Daddy."

3 Minutes Inside of Lola's Head

This was taken from my friend, Bria's, blog.  I loved it so much I had to share!  It totally sums up Lola (with the exception of #58 of course).

Approximately 3 minutes inside the head of my 2 year old:

  1. I wanna play with Daddy’s phone.
  2. I wanna put on Mommy’s shoes.
  3. GET MOMMY’S SHOES OFF MY FEET NOW!
  4. I wanna open and close the thermostat.
  5. I wanna turn on and off the light on the microwave.
  6. Is there anyone here with a phone I haven’t played with yet?
  7. I NEED TO PUSH SOME GODDAMN BUTTONS.
  8. I wanna pick up the cat by its head.
  9. I wanna throw all the toothbrushes in the sink.
  10. HOLY SHIT I’M STARVING.
  11. CHEDDAR BUNNIES.
  12. I HATE FRUIT.
  13. I want out of my chair.
  14. I wanna play with the iPad.
  15. I wanna go outside. No, I wanna turn the heat on.
  16. I wanna take my pants off.
  17. I don’t like the shirt I’m wearing.
  18. I wanna play with Mommy’s phone.
  19. I NEED TO PUSH MORE BUTTONS NOW.
  20. I’m thirsty.
  21. No, not for that.
  22. Yes, perfect, juicebox. I’m gonna squeeze this damn thing all over myself.
  23. Where’s Daddy?
  24. Where’s the cat?
  25. Where’s Mommy?
  26. SERIOUSLY WHERE’S MOMMY!?
  27. Oh my God I think Mommy left forever.
  28. Ok, there’s mommy. I want to play with her phone.
  29. Hungry again. Never mind.
  30. I just remembered not liking these pants. Get them off.
  31. STOP TAKING OFF MY PANTS!
  32. Wow, I’m starving. I want peas but I don’t know how to tell anyone.
  33. Finally, peas. I like throwing these.
  34. WHY DO I STILL HAVE THESE PANTS ON?
  35. Oh look, a new person. I wonder if they have a phone.
  36. I’m tired.
  37. I’M NOT TIRED!
  38. I wanna go for a walk but I don’t wanna go outside.
  39. No, not inside either!
  40. I need to push some buttons right now.
  41. I hate this diaper.
  42. My eyes itch.
  43. WOW! Is this my toe?
  44. STOP TRYING TO TAKE MY PANTS OFF!
  45. I hate these pants.
  46. This shirt itches.
  47. I’m tired.
  48. Stop asking me if I’m tired.
  49. Where’s that toy that goes beep?
  50. I wanna take a bath in my clothes.
  51. Put on my favorite song.
  52. Where’s the cat?
  53. What is UP with my shirt?
  54. Did I just hear a dog bark?
  55. YOU DID NOT JUST TRY TO TAKE OFF MY SHIRT AGAIN!
  56. I wanna see a dog.
  57. No, not OUTSIDE! I wanna see a dog inside.
  58. Is my penis still there? Good.
  59. I peed.
  60. I’m bored.
Repeat.

Sneak Peek of Dusha Family Pictures

Thanks to Amy at ALee Photography.  She does an amazing job with my stinkers.
