Poor baby Teague. He is so sick.
On Wednesday night he had a 101 temp, so I gave him some motrin and put him to bed. At 4:30 he woke up and I literally could feel the heat radiating off of his body in his crib. I took his temp and it was 103.5. I immediately gave him more motrin and took him to bed with me. I stayed home with him yesterday and he seemed like he was getting a little better during the day and then at 2:30 in the afternoon he still seemed feverish (after all day of alternating motrin and tylenol). I checked his temp and it was 104.1. I thought, that's it - I am taking him into the clinic. So here he is with this high temp, moaning with his eyes shut - but everytime he opened his eyes and saw a new person (nurse, dr., people in the waiting room, etc.) he was smiling so big and then shutting his eyes and back to moaning. Awwwww! He was checked for influenza (negative), RSV (negative at this point), ear infection (positive) and lastly they wanted his white blood levels checked since he had such a high temp.
So Ryan carries him down to lab while he is sleeping, lays him on the table in lab, he immediately opens his eyes and smiles at all the lab techs even while they are tying up his arm with the rubber band thing, cries while they poke one arm and fail. Smiles, then cries when they poke and are finally successful on the other arm - then I just couldn't take it anymore and just wanted to hold my baby. Oye - it was tough. Luckily his white blood count came back normal. Just a slight ear infection and a good old yucky virus that he has to fight off on his own.
So Ryan stayed home with him today where he continued with the rotation of tylenol and motrin with the highest fever being 104.2 and the lowest being 102. Finally before dinner it came down to 99 and he seemed like he was back on the mend. However, he is back to his chills and moaning. Oh my poor baby. I sure hope this ends soon.
