Teague's Tricks

Oh that Teague is tricky! He is learning so many new things. He has been rocking back and forth on his hands and knees for about 3 weeks now without a take-off, however he can move from one end of the room to the other by rolling, scooting, or simply just digging his toes in and launching himself. I believe he will take off at any point now. He has been doing what we refer to as "push ups" for the last few days where he gets up on his hands and then on his tippy toes. I haven't caught that on camera, but here is a pic of him on all fours ready to go:

His other new trick is giving a high five. He is quite good at that and does it on demand (sounds like we are training a dog and not a baby, doesn't it?!). I think he gets a kick out of it because he gets such a reaction out of us! Here is a picture of him giving a high 5 to Ryan:

He of course surprises us every day with what he can do. He waves bye-bye, he puts his hand up in the air when we say "hi" to him, he can shoot/dunk a basketball (see video on the side if you haven't seen it already), and says Da da da da da da da. Quite disappointing for me as I have practiced "Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma" with him non-stop and never even said "da da da da da" to him before and that was what he came up with. Go figure. He has been saying "Hi" and "ooh ooh" for a few months. I guess those were the things we were saying the most to him without knowing it!

We had a good weekend. Friday night Ryan had a game. Yesterday we went out for dinner just the 3 of us at Bug A Boo Bay in Alexandria and then we came home and got Teague ready for bed and he had his first official "non family" babysitter while Ryan and I went out for a friend's birthday. I was home by 11:45 since this morning was my morning to get up with Teague (Ryan and I trade off with that on the weekends - he sleeps in one morning and I sleep in one morning). Anyway, when I got home last night he was awake (he was sleeping when we left). I told Courtney and Brad (babysitters) that he will normally sleep all night, but for whatever reason he tends to wake up if we are not home. And sure enough - 20 minutes before I got home, he woke up. When I got home he was just all smiles and thought it was play time!!! What a stinker! So after Brad and Courtney left off to bed he went until this morning. I guess he just wants to know that his mom is home!

I am so glad that it is the end of Feb and we are nearing the end of winter. I am so over winter and ready for some warmer weather. I know March can be such a bear as far as snow, but I can take one more month - but that's about it! We are ready to build our second garage and start on the decking and getting the pool installed. I just am looking forward to spending the warm months at home with Teague and Ryan enjoying the pool and being outside!

We hope everyone has a nice week!

Isn't it amazing to watch them grow so fast?!? I swear it was last month when they were still in our bellies. Now is such a fun age (I do say that about every age, but this one is particularly fun).
